Update for Fall 2023: We have been busy on social media and those groups, but we now have over 3 years of data that Tom and Jon were nice enough to compile and create charts - this summer was the highest despite the weather appearing to be cooler. Meeting schedule for follow-up - please call if any changes or new items.
Update for 7/2022: Road is done (as well as cut-through)! Still closed off. We remain concerned about utility related issues and exposures. See Residents' page and join our FB group (residents/owners only). Road calming submission complete and in process per Bflo website.
Update for 6/2022:
Road is cleared through and to cut-away near where Gunnel intersects at St. Lawrence. We have already seen significant speeding issues (well documented with police and neighbors, video cams, etc.), so obviously many neighbors are concerned about it getting even worse when the roads are paved/opened. See the private page of the website and private FB group for further dialog and contacts made to various entities. Update from 3/2022 remains the same to date.
Update for 5/2022:
The phases look about ready to connect. We already have speeding issues, and many neighbors are concerned about it getting even worse when the phases are connected. See the private page of the website and private FB group for further dialog. Update from 3/2022 remains the same to date.
Update 3/2022:
Many Phase 4 (completed before Phase 3 begun) owners have moved in. Easement & electrical issues have not been addressed to the extent known by the residents. The Bike Path issues persist per City of Buffalo resolution and residents (South & North side) remain extremely concerned about safety and other issues associated with the bike path going in between homes.
Update 10/2021:
1. Easement issues appear to continue - little word (more on Residents' Page).
2. Numerous neighbors remained concerned about electrical issues (front and back lines south side). Neighbors are also concerned about the lack of information being provided by National Grid and other entities (NG has sent what appears to be a form letter - does not address NG's position on health, safety, acceptable ranges, cross-over, flux, approvals for development, if this will be rectified, etc.). More on resident's page!
3. Bike Path update on Residents' Page
Update 3.25.2020: Update on Front NG issues (impacting North and South sides). More info at residents' page, Mtg, etc.
Update 1.19.2021: Two updates added to the private page regarding the easement.
Update 12.8.2020: Another DePaul mtg scheduled, RVW not invited again even though we are right across Colvin and well within the 400 feet. More info on Residents' Page. Also, added information on lots still being listed as commercial which could impact various items for residents.
Update 12.2.2020: Assessment summary and link from COB response email on Residents' page.
Update 12.1.2020: Assessment info (challenge, etc.) due to situation with DePaul and Easement info on Residents' Page.
Update 11/9/2020: Zoom meeting tonight on Easement issues! Info emailed out and on Residents' page - contact me if you did not get it!
Update 10/22/2020: Per FB, there was a second Mtg for the DePaul Community and we were not invited, noticed, etc. This is odd given that we specifically asked to be included in the first meeting, we have houses right across the street from the property at issue, and we were told that the meetings were called at the request of our Council Member (J. Feroleto). J. Feroleto / his office still has not arranged a meeting to meet with residents on this or the easement issue. Please see residents page for additional information.
Update 10/18/2020: Update and PS Info Added To Residents' Page
UPDATE 10/14/2020: Easement Side Meeting is on for tonight! Details, etc. on Residents Only pages.
UPDATE 10/9/2020: Please log in for information because we are planning a neighborhood meeting (outdoors and with social distancing) concerning easement and electricity issues the neighborhood is facing at the moment. There is plenty of information to share and various actions that could be taken at this time. In any event, most folks on the easement side that I have spoken with want to get the word out and a meeting seems to be a logical starting point. We have also been in contact with the NYS hotline to ensure we are able to meet applicable social distancing requirements. Many neighbors have requested this because they believe this is necessary given the recent responses by many "representatives" involved in various aspects of the situation.
UPDATE 9/21/2020: Public notice - please be aware that a representative of National Grid has verbally stated to several residents of Phases I and II that they want to remove all encroachments on the easement side (after residents received a letter from NG). NG came on 9/23/2020 and verbally (nothing in writing and no official documentation) stating that fences and other items have to be removed on the 30 foot easement - and they would like this done by November 1, 2020 (again, verbal - nothing in writing and the person who came stated that he was only a contractor for NG and did not show any official documentation confirming his authority and/or requests).
UPDATE 9/2020: There is a new project "concept" being investigated by DePaul to put a facility of 150 Apartments across Colvin. More info on the resident pages. We were excluded from the mailings, but we have copies. Meeting on 9.6.2020
UPDATE 8/2020: There are several issues associated with Phases 3 & 4 that homeowners & residents may want to address dealing with recent construction vehicles making numerous trips for two days through Phases 1 and 2 (with dirt, noise, safety/speeding issues, dirt/debris left behind, idling for extended periods of time around neighbor houses, etc.
UPDATE 8/2020: On top of this, current RVW owners/residents are encountering significant difficulty / extra hurdles with obtaining permission to make changes to their property involving the easement (meaning their own property, not the back 30 feet) - e.g., pools moved, fences, etc.
Summer is here - the cold weather is gone and things are reopening! Time to be social, get out, and see your neighbors (following all government guidance, etc.). We will still use the website to attempt to get a hold of everyone at one time and make sure that everyone has the same information (avoid "grapevine" problems). Because of this, we have created a private page just for homeowners/residents of RVW to share information.
You must be eighteen years of age (or older) to log into the homeowner/residents webpage.
Residents and Homeowners, to register for the residents' only page, please click the link below and follow the registration process (basically create a UN / PW combo to we are able to keep the page secured).
To register, please click "Find Out More" directly below.
We love meeting our neighbors - on and off RVW!
